Em’s First Giggles
In the past week or so, we’ve been able to get some random giggles out of Emmett – when we pull a shirt over his head, blow a raspberry on his belly, etc. Still, there’s really been no surefire way to induce a giggle … until now.
Apparently Emmett is ticklish! Right under his left armpit. It’s pretty cute. Last night, we got some video of the little tickle monster:
It also goes to show that no one truly likes being tickled.

Can You Say, “Heat Wave”?
If you’re unaware, Boston has been experiencing some summer-like weather the past several days. I’ve really been enjoying the change of pace. (You can tell just how much I’ve been enjoying it by the state of our apartment, as my usual weekend clean was somewhat neglected this week.)
We took Emmett for his second-ever stroll downtown through the Common and the Public Garden, where we stopped to have a little picnic in the park. This time, the Swan Boats were out, the tulips were in bloom and the sun was definitely an issue. We cut our outing a little short on account of the brutal rays, especially since sunblock for little ones seems to be only available for little ones 6 months and older. Still, we definitely had a grand ole time!
Some highlights …

My Baby’s Bumbo
Emmett’s Bumbo came in the mail today! I used some of my Babies ‘R Us gift card money to order one, along with an additional Boppy slipcover. It’s like Christmas! Thanks to everyone who gave me a Babies ‘R Us gift card – consider yourselves the givers of these two wonderful purchases.
Emmett LOVES his Bumbo so far – he’s so gosh darn independent now!

Breaking News: Emmett Rolls Over!!!
This just in! Emmett was placed on his belly several times today, after which he proceeded to roll himself onto his back. Here is the exclusive footage of today’s monumental event …
In other news, Emmett is also a preppy thug.

Emmett the Traveler
I’m not gonna lie – things are a little hectic. I’m taking on more projects at work, I have a three-month old baby who’s starting to require more entertainment, and now James and I have to start apartment hunting for September 1. Unfortunately, my posts may start to become fewer and farther between.
In Baby Lump news, the little man has been doing great! He had his first long distance trip on the train last weekend – we took him up to Maine for Easter weekend. It was one of his first long-distance excursions where he didn’t sleep the entire time. He was pretty cute – lounging on dad, looking out the window at the passing scenery, flirting with the woman across the aisle. And besides the fact that he had a little bit of an accident all over his and my Easter outfits, he was a very good guest at the cottage in Maine.
James and I were even able to go out on our first date alone since he was born. We went to this nice, romantic, little French restaurant for dinner, then to a tavern in Freeport to watch the Ice Dogs kick some serious University of Miami (Ohio) butt in the national championship! Apparently Emmett was a good little boy for Gran Lucy and Grandpa Mac.
He’s really starting to rock tummy time, and he’s holding his head up well enough now to face outward in the Baby Bjorn.
Man, do they grow up quickly ;o)
